An early morning swim at London Fields Lido

One of my favourite places in London is London Fields Lido, the fabulous open air swimming pool in East London. Nestled right in the centre of London Fields, the lido is handily located en-route to my work at The Create Place. When the motivation grabs me, I wake up really early, hop on my bike and cycle down the road to enjoy the delights of this local hidden gem.

For me, swimming in an outdoor pool feels like such a luxury and brings back fond memories of holidaying abroad. It really is the ultimate wake up call on a spring morning. The best part is the atmosphere. Everyone is so cheery and it always makes me smile to see the look on people’s faces when they realise it is warmer in the pool than it is outside!

To enjoy London Fields Lido at its best, get there first thing. It feels like you have your very own private pool. Afterwards, pop over to the The Gallery Cafe on Old York Road and reward your bravery with the ultimate veggie fry up. A truly perfect start to the day.
